A two-semester long project for my third year in school. We were given a semester for pre-production and the other for production. Made by a team of five.
Game design, 3D modelling, UI, photo-editing, video creation.

3D Modelling
Before production, I began making a metrics list of assets for a modular kit. With one of our level designers, we determined the size of the player and used it to base all the dimensions. Floors and ceilings shared the same plane with different textures and materials, while walls were different due to unique trims and cornices.
The lab room was an exception to the kit as it was fully created as a single Blender collection. This is because the room was small and used as a hub to move in-and-out of levels. I was given a map by one of the level designers to follow showing what furniture was needed and the size of them. Every object would then be exported into Substance Painter for textures.
The enemy was based on one of our artists’ concept art. Rigging and its walking animation was also both done in Blender.

Other Work
I made a concept for the inventory UI inspired by classic survival horror games consisting of a small grid, description, and a tab that showed the current task. The image shows it being placed over a blurred screenshot of the lab within Substance Painter as visual reference.
Most of the 2D work I did revolved around editing images in Photoshop to make them look like they were paintings on canvas to add into the museum. Teammates and peers sent me over 70 images to used and changed by following these steps:
-
Convert to Smart Object
-
Add Sponge Smart Filter
-
Add Unsharp Mask Filter
-
Repeat 2-3 until satisfied
-
Change Blending Options
-
Add Canvas Texture
These images were then added to 3D planes placed in picture frames to complete the look of an oil painting.
At one point, I made a scene transition video in After Effects to go between lab and museum. The animation would be shown after the player uses an old terminal so I made the visuals fit the 90s.
